Agora Verkehrswende observes developments in other countries and regions and seeks international dialogue in order to gain ideas for the path to climate neutrality in Germany and to pass on experiences from Germany.

Countries and Regions

More and more countries and regions are setting themselves the goal of becoming climate-neutral. This will be particularly challenging in the transport sector. Agora Verkehrswende has compiled the key climate and transport figures for the G20 states and in some cases beyond.

Network for rethinking transport in Africa

As part of the Rethinking Transport project, Agora Verkehrswende and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) are supporting the formation of an independent network of African think tanks, research institutes, associations, companies and government institutions to further develop the dialogue on the decarbonization of the transport sector on the African continent.

Thai-German Cooperation on Energy, Mobility and Climate (TGC EMC)

The Thai-German Cooperation on Energy, Mobility and Climate (TGC EMC) is a joint programme of eight organizations and is funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK). The project includes the development of technology options for the decarbonization of the transport sector, measures to promote electromobility and the expansion of the charging infrastructure.

NDC Transport Initiative for Asia

The Nationally Determined Contributions Transport Initiative for Asia (NDC-TIA) is a joint programme of seven organizations and is funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU). By networking with regional stakeholders and other Asian countries, it helps to promote a comprehensive approach to decarbonizing transport.

Int-E-Grid - Powering Electromobility in Poland and Germany

Int-E-Grid is a joint project of three organizations and was supported by the European Climate Initiative (EUKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. The focus was on the integration of electric vehicles into the electricity system in Poland and Germany, in particular through the exchange of experience and the development of recommendations for action.

Strategic Foresight for Climate-Friendly Transport (T4under2)

Transport for under two Degrees (T4under2) is a joint project of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the World Economic Forum (WEF) and Agora Verkehrswende and was funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. The aim was to identify the most important challenges for a global transport transition and to formulate recommendations for policy and international cooperation.
